Key Findings:
💡 Preoperative opioid use significantly increases the likelihood of continued opioid use long after discharge - in turn escalating healthcare costs.
💡 Further research needs to focus on targeted strategies to manage and potentially reduce opioid reliance in older surgical populations.
I was honoured to work on this project alongside an esteemed group of students (pictured left to right), including Sarah Rabi (BScH, MSc), Francis Nguyen (BScH, MPH), and Melissa Richardson (BHSc).
